National Health Service Corp Loan Repayment Program Accepting Applications

The Health Resources and Services Administration is accepting applications for the National Health Service Corps Students to Service Loan Repayment Program. The federal program provides loan repayment assistance for medical, nursing, physician assistant, and dental students who are in their last year of school, in return for a commitment to provide services in eligible Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs) of greatest need.

Those who qualify can receive up to $120,000 in four annual installments of up to $30,000. Applicants must provide 3 years of full-time service NHSC-approved service site.

In addition, up to $40,000 in 4 annual installments of up to $10,000 is available as supplemental award payments for eligible disciplines - physicians specializing in obstetrics/gynecology and family medicine physicians who practice obstetrics on a regular basis.
