OKSHINE: Oklahoma's HIE Requirements

Wednesday, March 29, 12pm - Live Webinar

1.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™

We know many Oklahoma physicians have concerns about the new law requiring all health care providers to participate in the state’s Health Information Exchange (HIE), OKSHINE. To help our physicians better understand the OKSHINE program and how this affects their practice, we are hosting a virtual CME on Wednesday, March 29. You will learn about the OKSHINE program, what you need to know to comply and how waivers may be granted.

SPEAKERS:
David Kendrick, M.D., CEO of MyHealth Access Network
Stephen Miller, State Coordinator for Health Information Exchange at the Oklahoma State Health Care Authority
Cori Loomis, J.D., Christensen Law Group, P.L.L.C.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:
After attending the activity, the physician should be able to:

  1. Identify the expectation of providers defined within SB 1369 for HIE participation.
  2. Recognize the clinical impact of care fragmentation.
  3. Understand current HIE Coverage and Capabilities.
  4. Outline the benefits of reviewing HIE data prior to treatment.
  5. Describe the steps necessary to participate in the HIE.
