Applications for the OSMA Student Trustee and Alternate Trustee are open for the 2020-2021 calendar year

I have served as the OSMA Student Trustee for the past two years and have found this position incredibly rewarding and educational, and, it further developed my passion for public health advocacy at the local, state, and national level.
The Oklahoma State Medical Association is the largest organized medicine society for physicians, residents, and medical students in the state of Oklahoma. Their vision is to be the leading voice in health care for Oklahoma’s patients, families and physicians, and, they work heavily with federal, state, and local leaders to be the voice of medicine in our state.
The OSMA Board of Trustees acts to perform or direct business on behalf of the organization. Each year, two medical students—a trustee and alternate trustee—sit on the board so as to give the perspective of a medical student and a rising resident/physician.
Duties of the OSMA Student Trustee:
  • Attend all BOT meetings, preferably in person but calling-in may be permitted. Meetings are held quarterly, typically on Saturday or Sunday afternoon.
  • Attend the OSMA Annual Meeting Yearly (held in April, typically).
  • Term is for one year: June 2020-May 2021.

Applications are due no later than June 10th, 2020 and must be emailed. Applicants must be a MS2, MS3, or MS4 for the 2020-2021 academic year.
Feel free to reach out with any questions at all! Wishing you all the best as you complete the rest of this academic year!
