OPPOSE Proposed Vaccine Rule: Submit Your Comment
Misinformation and disinformation are largely responsible for the increase in required immunization exemptions in Oklahoma. Personal and religious exemption requests for school-aged children vaccinations has more than doubled over the past six years.
Current Health Department rules MAINTAIN parental rights to receive a vaccine exemption and support informed choice to protect kids and are in full compliance with current statutes.
Now there’s an attempt to roll back the informed choice rule. To learn more about the amended rule,

.
PUBLIC COMMENTS
are to be submitted online
BEFORE JANUARY 14
to ask the Oklahoma State Health Department to leave the rule in place, which protects children and our communities from the spread of disease. To submit a comment,

and tell them you are
NOT
in favor of the proposed rule change. (Select
NO
from the drop-down menu when prompted.) SUBMIT YOUR COMMENTS TODAY!
Below are “copy and paste” sample comments below:
Disinformation about vaccines directly correlates to the spread of preventable diseases in our schools, our homes and our communities - including COVID-19. I am NOT in favor of the proposed rule change.
Parents who deny their children from receiving vaccines put their own children at risk, as well as our greater community, as preventable diseases spread. I am NOT in favor of the proposed rule change.
Parents who provide vaccines for their children prevent the spread of disease in children and those they come into contact with. I am NOT in favor of the proposed rule change.
Allowing the spread of vaccine disinformation is unethical and unconscionable - especially during a pandemic. I am NOT in favor of the proposed rule change.
Children are best protected when healthcare decisions that impact them are informed by a medical professional in consultation with parents. I am NOT in favor of the proposed rule change.
Oklahoma is already a "Parent Choice" state for vaccinations. Exemptions are available for personal, medical or religious reasons. The Health Department rule that passed last year does not remove any available vaccine exemptions. I am NOT in favor of the proposed rule change.
