Tuesday, February 21st from 5pm - 7pm at the OSMA headquarters.
Please join your physician colleagues on Tuesday, February 21st as we host state legislators at our annual Medicine Day Legislative Reception
Medicine Day 2017
Tuesday, February 21st
Oklahoma State Medical Association (313 NE 50th St., Oklahoma City)
All MDs and DOs are welcome. Wear your white coat!
(Please note: the 50th St. exit from I-235 is currently closed due to construction. So please enter either from Lincoln Blvd. on the east or from Santa Fe or Western on the west.)
This is always a great event and gives us a good opportunity to meet with our legislators outside the pressure-cooker of the Capitol and talk about the important issues impacting physicians.
We urge you to invite your physician colleagues and help make this our biggest Medicine Day yet!
This year’s Medicine Day legislative reception was another big success, with more than 150 physicians in attendance to meet with their state lawmakers.
With the state facing a $1.3 billion budget shortfall, health funding will be a key priority this year and was the main message to our lawmakers. With the help of our physician attendees, we were able to educate lawmakers about the disastrous impact that large cuts to the Health Care Authority will have not just for the Medicaid population, but on access to care for all of the state’s underserved areas. This will be an ongoing debate throughout session, so we hope you will help us keep up the drumbeat on the importance of adequately funding Oklahoma’s health care needs.
In addition to OSMA, Medicine Day was co-sponsored by the Oklahoma Society of Anesthesiologists, the Oklahoma Academy of Ophthalmology and the Oklahoma chapters of the American Academy of Pediatrics, American College of Physicians and American College of Cardiology.
A very big thank you to everyone who helped make Medicine Day a success!
