Your membership in the Oklahoma State Medical Association (OSMA) ensures that you receive timely information and peer networking opportunities vital in combating the daily challenges and changes facing our profession. In partnership with your local county medical society and the AMA, OSMA represents you and your patients. OSMA strives to deliver the best return on your dues investment. Some of the benefits of membership are highlighted below.

Legislative Advocacy – As one of our top priorities, OSMA continues to provide advocacy at the State and National Levels regarding important issues such as medical liability reform, Medicaid and Medicare reimbursement, and Scope of Practice.
Continuing Medical Education (CME) – OSMA provides educational opportunities by sponsoring or joint-sponsoring CME programs throughout the state. OSMA also accredits 22 organizations who provide access for our members to CME programs.
Public Health Initiatives – The Council on Public and Mental Health and the Physicians’ Campaign for a Healthier Oklahoma (PCHO) continue to work to make a difference in the health and quality of life of all Oklahomans.

Communications and Public Relations – OSMA continues to strive to keep members informed through up-to-date communications, including the OSMA Website, OSMA News Now, the award-winning monthly OSMA Journal, the Directory of Physician Members and the annual Legislative Summary.

Member Benefit Programs (Preferred Associates) – The OSMA develops relationships with business partners to provide services and/or products to OSMA members at reduced costs, also benefitting the OSMA through non-dues or in-kind revenue. Partners include OSMA Health, providing health benefits for OSMA physicians and the OSMA-owned Physicians Liability Insurance Company (PLICO), providing medical liability insurance coverage.

OSMA Foundation / Health Professionals Program (HPP) – a 501 (c) 3 not-for-profit organization, the Foundation has served to help OSMA in support of medical students, residents, CME and many other individual grants. The HPP continues to be a national leader in identifying problems, assisting in treatment and returning to practice physicians who have experienced substance abuse or dependency.
