The OSMA Foundation was established in 1991 to promote the betterment of public health through scientific and medical research, both directly and by the application of assets to the use of individuals for scientific and medical research, or to any corporation, trust, fund or foundation whose purposes and operations are scientific, educational, or charitable. Purpose
1. To promote the betterment of public health through scientific and medical
research, both directly and by the application of assets to the use of individuals for scientific and
medical research, or to any corporation, trust, fund or foundation whose purposes and operations
are scientific, education or charitable.
2. To collect, correlate, evaluate and to disseminate to the public, generally, the
results of scientific and medical research activities.
3. To provide financial assistance to recognized institutions of medical education
and to medical or osteopathic students currently enrolled therein.
4. To provide financial assistance to the oversight, management and coordination of:
(i) programs to identify and arrange for treatment of impaired health professionals; (ii) programs
for post treatment monitoring and counseling of impaired health professionals; and (iii) programs
to identify and assist physicians in need of personalized education and training.
5. To provide and/or assist and to promote charitable healthcare delivery.
6. To provide and/or assist in healthcare delivery research.
7. To provide and/or assist in physician addiction research.
8. To provide and/or assist research in physician remediation programs.
9. To provide and/or assist and to promote physician personal development
education.
10. To provide and/or assist and to promote physician continuing medical education
("CME") programs.
11. To provide and/or assist and to promote patient safety initiatives.
12. To provide and/or assist and to promote communication initiatives for the medical
community.
13. To provide and/or assist and to promote programs, treatment and research
regarding disruptive physician behavior.
14. To provide and/or assist and to promote patient health education.
15. To provide and/or assist and to promote the recovery of impaired physicians.
16. To provide and/or assist and to promote the community and public image of the
physician-patient relationship.
17. To provide and/or assist and to support medical student education and programs.
18. To do any and all things necessary or desirable for the attairnnent of the purposes
stated above as permitted by the Oklahoma General Corporation Act and other applicable laws.
